Leeds United pushing to sign a striker this summer amid Kasper Hogh links

Leeds United are keen to sign a new striker in the summer amid links to several names, including Bodo/Glimt’s Kasper Hogh.

According to Football Insider, Leeds United will prioritise the signing of a new striker if they manage to stave off relegation. Daniel Farke’s system requires ample depth in the centre-forward department, as they have earmarked a few names, including Bodo/Glimt’s Kasper Høgh.

Leeds United are prioritising a key striker in the summer window, with Daniel Farke looking into the market for reliable options. The club did make the right decisions in this regard last summer when they brought in Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha, with the pair contributing 10 and 6 goals respectively in the Premier League.

Farke’s system uses two strikers on the pitch, which will require the squad to have enough quality depth to go through an entire season. From the current setup, Joel Piroe could depart next summer, which could see the club prioritise the signing of a new striker.

There are some options mentioned, including Derby County’s Patrick Agyemang, while Irish international Troy Parrott is also being linked as an option. The idea is to have both Nmecha and Calvert-Lewin in the team next season while adding another option to compete with the duo.

Leeds United were tracking Kasper Hogh, the Bodo/Glimt striker who was one of the top performers in this season’s Champions League. The idea of luring him to the Premier League might work out, but the player is keen to continue playing in the Champions League, which does cast doubts on Leeds United’s chances of signing the 25-year-old Scandinavian attacker.

Leeds United to lose Hogh chase?

Leeds United might make a compelling offer to test the waters with the 25-year-old Scandinavian attacker, but they are already behind Celtic in the chase for Hogh. The Scottish giants are in a position to offer Champions League football, which would effectively put them at the front of the race, ahead of Farke’s side.

Even if they end up losing out on the 25-year-old Scandinavian attacker, Leeds United will search the market for a new striker for their squad. At the moment, Farke will focus on getting the relegation battle out of the way and ensuring the team’s safety in the final games of the season.
