Arsenal academy graduate Myles Lewis-Skelly could end up joining rivals Manchester United ahead of next season. The Red Devils are keen on his signature, and according to a report from Fichajes, they can secure the services of the English youth international for €60 million.
United seem to have some big plans for the summer. After their sensational revival under Michael Carrick, the Red Devils now want to build a squad capable enough to challenge for the league title. They already have a strong core and are looking to add to it in the upcoming transfer window.
Apart from reinforcing their midfield, the Manchester-based giants are also looking to invest in a young left-back. Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly has caught their attention following his sensational rise at the North London club.
He got promoted to their first team in the summer of 2024 and went on to have a dream debut campaign. He featured in 39 games last season and even contributed towards three goals. Despite his exceptional performances last season, the 19-year-old has struggled to have enough minutes this time around.
With Piero Hincapie and Riccardo Calafiori ahead of him in the pecking order, he has racked up less than 1,300 minutes in his 27 appearances. He still has four goal contributions, but the lack of game time has frustrated the youngster, who has started to consider his options.
Manchester United are aware of his situation and want to make the most out of it. While the Red Devils do have Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Patrick Dorgu in their ranks, they are in the market for a new left-back. Shaw is injury-prone, and they want someone who can replace him in the long run.
Malacia is likely to be sold, and Dorgu is a very attack-minded option. They consider Arsenal’s academy graduate to be an ideal fit for their setup, as he is more of a traditional full-back. While United want him and the player also seems willing to switch clubs in search of a more prominent role, the Gunners won’t let him leave on the cheap.
Since his contract runs until 2030, they are in complete control over his future and given his massive potential, they want at least €60 million to let go of the teenager. United will have to move quickly if they want to secure his services, as other top clubs also have their eyes on Lewis-Skelly.
