Serie A side Milan are trying to push forward in their move for Bayern’s Leon Goretzka but Arsenal remain in the lead for the midfielder’s signature.
Daniele Longo has reported that the Rossoneri see the German as their key target for the summer. The move will be ambitious but they believe it will be a big statement of intent from Max Allegri’s side.
It is certain the midfielder will not sign a new deal with Bayern. Inter and Juventus have also made their moves but Milan remain in touch with his entourage. The Nerazzurri have held two rounds of talks and Milan know they will have to beat stiff competition, which is why they have been pushing for weeks now.
The relationship between Goretzka’s agents and Igli Tare is excellent but so far, Arsenal remains his preference. The player does appreciate the Rossoneri and Serie A but he would much rather play in the Premier League.
Besides, the Rossoneri will not be able to match his wage demands of €7m per season, on top of a signing-on bonus and performance based bonuses. This would be easier to match for Arsenal, making Milan still lag behind despite all their efforts.
