According to TEAMtalk, Maxence Lacroix is on the radar of multiple Premier League sides as Crystal Palace anticipate offers for the France international defender. Aston Villa, Chelsea, and Liverpool are credited with an interest in the 25-year-old centre-back, as the Eagles could lose another one of their defensive mainstays in consecutive windows.
Crystal Palace have steadily become a thriving hub for highly rated defenders over the last few seasons. Since losing Joachim Andersen to Fulham, the Eagles brought in Maxence Lacroix as his replacement, and under current boss Oliver Glasner, the Frenchman has established himself as one of the most sought-after centre-backs in the Premier League.
It is no surprise that he assumed the leadership role at Crystal Palace after Marc Guehi exited the club in January to embark on a new challenge with Manchester City. However, Lacroix’s stay might be short-lived at the club, as the defender has attracted interest from some of the top six sides in the Premier League.
Aston Villa are among those chasing the 25-year-old Crystal Palace mainstay, with the club contemplating selling Pau Torres in the next window. Maxence Lacroix could be an able replacement and would overall improve the Villa backline ahead of the new season.
Chelsea are also in the mix for a new centre-back, which has been the case since last summer when Levi Colwill suffered a season-ending injury. They failed to sign one in January despite links with Liverpool-bound Jeremy Jacquet, and may now angle for a move for Lacroix, who fits into their model, whilst his Premier League experience could also come in handy.
Liverpool are also in the mix, as they are in the market for a new defender. Together with Chelsea, they have been linked with Murillo as an example, but now they might angle a move for Maxence Lacroix as well. Jacquet will arrive in the summer, but the experience of Lacroix is what they probably need, especially with Ibrahima Konate now heading towards free agency ahead of the summer.
Lacroix also made his France debut during the current international break against Brazil and played the entire game against Colombia. Crystal Palace are protected by a contract until 2029, and without a release clause in his deal, they are set to dictate the terms of his departure, as they are certainly anticipating offers to arrive for the 25-year-old defender in the summer.
