Saudi Pro League step up interest in Mohamed Salah

Saudi Pro League have stepped up their efforts to make Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah their latest marquee signing.

Signing Mohamed Salah has been a long-standing desire for the Saudi Pro League chiefs, and they are finally optimistic about getting it done ahead of the FIFA World Cup this summer. They seem certain about reaching a blockbuster agreement with the former AS Roma winger.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Saudi Pro League have intensified their efforts to strike a deal with the Liverpool star, who will be leading Egypt in the global event in a few months. Both parties have had fresh talks in recent weeks, as the chiefs of the cash-rich league push forward with the deal that has been in place for over a year now.

They made attempts to lure him to the Middle East last summer, but failed to convince. Salah did end up signing a two-year extension before the start of the season, but he has now decided to leave Anfield ahead of next season.

The former Chelsea winger arrived at the Merseyside club in the summer of 2017 after reviving his fortunes at AS Roma. He has gone on to win every major title with the Reds, etching his name in their history. The veteran attacker has 255 goals and 122 assists for Liverpool in his 435 appearances.

While the ongoing campaign has not gone per plan, Salah will always be remembered as the guy who helped re-establish Liverpool as one of the biggest clubs in the world. Meanwhile, even though the experienced winger still has a year left on his deal in the summer, the Premier League champions have decided to let him leave for free.

Salah looks set to move to the Middle East

Liveprool won’t be demanding any fee as a sign of respect for all that he has done for them over the years. With Salah available, the Saudi Pro League want to fulfil their desire of having him in their league. He gave serious consideration to their offer last summer and now looks set to finally put pen to paper on a deal.

Saudi negotiators have stepped up their efforts to sign him, and his representatives have been informed that he will have the freedom to choose the club he wants to play for. However, Al-Ittihad are believed to be the front-runners.

Salah’s camp are doing their due diligence. While the Egyptian international has other options, Saudi chiefs are very confident about getting a deal over the line.
