Inter Milan ready to offer €3.2 million-a-year deal to Guglielmo Vicario

Inter Milan have prepared a contract offer to try and lure Tottenham shot-stopper, Guglielmo Vicario, to the club.

Inter Milan are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper who can take charge as their number one going forward. With Yan Sommer set to leave the club after the end of the season, the Italian giants have been working hard to sign a new goalkeeper for some time.

While the management has considered a number of options, they seem to have finally decided to go after the signature of Guglielmo Vicario. The Italian international is their priority target and the only goalkeeper they have had direct contact with. According to a report from L’Interista, Inter are ready to offer him a €3.2 million-a-year deal, with a contract that will run until the summer of 2030.

Vicario seems eager to return to his homeland, and it will certainly help the Italian giants during negotiations with Spurs. They are already working hard to secure an agreement with the North London club. The final price is expected to be around €20 million, but it could go down if they get relegated to the Championship.

Vicario’s time in England could end soon

While Guglielmo Vicario has had his share of ups and downs, he has been the undisputed number one for Tottenham since joining them from FC Empoli in the summer of 2023. The club haven’t been at their best this season and are currently fighting for survival in the English top flight. Despite that, the 29-year-old has 13 clean sheets in his 43 outings across competitions.

The Italian shot-stopper will still have two years left on his deal during the summer, but it seems Spurs would be open to negotiating his departure as long as their demands are met. The North London club seem to have plans of their own to sign a new goalkeeper, as they look for an upgrade in between the sticks.

With the player keen on returning to Italy and Inter preparing a four-year deal worth a total of €12.8 million, it will be interesting to see if they actually manage to land him ahead of the new season.
