Liverpool, Chelsea prepared to pay over €60 million for Yan Diomande

Liverpool and Chelsea are ready to fork out over €60 million as they look to beat Barcelona to the signature of RB Leipzig sensation Yan Diomande.

Yan Diomande has taken his game to the next level since joining RB Leipzig. Not only has he established himself as a key figure in their team in no time, but he is also now widely regarded as one of the best young attackers in the world.

His sensational rise hasn’t gone unnoticed. A host of top clubs are now after the 19-year-old Ivorian international. According to Sport via SportWitness, Liverpool, Chelsea and Barcelona are all keen on his signature. But the Premier League duo look set to pay over €60 million to beat the Catalan giants in the race.

Diomande made the move to Leipzig last summer from CD Leganes in a deal worth €20 million. Such has been his rise that his value has already gone up to €70 million. In his debut campaign for the German club, the teenager has been involved in 30 matches, and he has contributed towards 19 goals.

European giants want Diomande

He has stood out with his pace, dribbling, and eye for goal. The teenager has everything a top club is looking for, and he can even feature on either flank. Diomande finds himself on the radar of Barcelona, Chelsea and Liverpool following his sensational rise.

The Catalan giants are keen on acquiring his services with an eye on the future. While the high valuation is a massive problem for them, given their financial crisis, that hasn’t stopped them from making moves. They have already enquired about the teenager.

Barcelona will only be able to afford him if any of their attackers end up getting sold for big bucks. Meanwhile, Chelsea and Liverpool are looking to prise them out. The Blues consider Diomande a perfect fit for their project that revolves around signing young players with massive potential.

While both the Blues and the Reds are prepared to offer over €60 million, Liverpool seem to have the edge following the player’s comments back in winter.

He said, “I want to play for Liverpool. I’m a huge Liverpool fan. My dad dreams of seeing me play at Anfield!”

Diomande clearly expressed his desire to play for the Merseyside club. With Mohamed Salah leaving, the Reds do need more quality on the flanks, and the Ivorian international could be a great acquisition for the long run.

Since Liverpool and Chelsea won’t have any trouble paying around €60-70 million, Barcelona don’t really stand a chance. For now, Arne Slot’s team remain in the driving seat because of the player’s desire.
