Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City front-runners to sign Lewis Hall

Newcastle United could anticipate approaches for key man Lewis Hall amid interest from top-six clubs ahead of the summer.

According to Fichajes, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City are reportedly leading the race for the signature of Lewis Hall. Newcastle United are anticipating approaches for their highly rated full-back, with the club reportedly seeking at least £70 million if they were to sell the defender.

Lewis Hall has made his mark as a top-rated full-back in the Premier League during his time at Newcastle United. He is currently the undisputed starter in the position under Eddie Howe, and there might be a case that some of the top-six sides will make approaches for his signature ahead of the summer.

Newcastle United are largely uninterested in selling Hall, as they view the England international as a key part of their present and future. However, should the interested clubs enter into a bidding war, and the player prefers a switch away from St James’ Park, the Magpies are reportedly seeking £70 million from the sale amid interest from Premier League sides as well as some from abroad, including Barcelona.

Arsenal and Manchester City have shown interest in Hall, although both teams are well-stocked in the left-back position at the moment. The Gunners have been linked with a few left-back options of late, and have also seen Riccardo Calafiori linked with an exit. The Italian is not expected to leave in any case, meaning Mikel Arteta may not consider Hall as a priority unless a significant market opportunity arises.

The same could be said about Manchester City, who are not eagerly looking ahead to the summer window for a new left-back. However, the Newcastle United player they are primarily interested in is right-back Tino Livramento, although a move for the 21-year-old Hall could be considered if the terms are right and there is a clear need for a new left-back.

Chelsea to make Lewis Hall move?

Chelsea nurtured Hall as a professional player through their academy before selling him to Newcastle United, with the defender currently in his third season at St James’ Park. The report states the Blues are eager to bring the 21-year-old wide man back to Stamford Bridge, while suggesting he could be seen as a possible replacement option for Marc Cucurella.

Speculation surrounding Cucurella had been rife during the international break following some comments in the media about the club. Chelsea are not considering selling the Spaniard and are reportedly ready to offer him a new deal. In the scenario that they end up offloading him, Hall could emerge as a firm contender to replace him.
