Marseille’s Igor Paixao attracting Premier League interest

Despite missing the start of the campaign due to injury, Igor Paixao has established himself as a key player at Olympique de Marseille, firstly under Roberto De Zerbi and now under Habib Beye.

The Brazilian joined Marseille from Feyenoord for a €30m fee last summer. To date, he has made 38 appearances for OM. Many of those appearances have come across the forward line, whilst he has also played at wing-back across the course of the campaign.

He has scored 12 goals in all competitions and registered seven assists. Twelve of those goal contributions have come in Ligue 1. His performances have already caught the eyes of Premier League clubs, according to a report from La Provence. There are already contacts with English sides, however, Les Phocéens’ intention is clear. They not only want to retain Paixao this summer, but they also want to build their attack around the Brazilian.
