Konstantinos Mavropanos wants Borussia Dortmund move

West Ham United centre-back Konstantinos Mavropanos is keen on joining German giants Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Konstantinos Mavropanos will still have two years left on his deal at West Ham United this summer, but it seems he has already made up his mind to part ways with the club. According to a report from Football Insider, the Greek international has his heart set on a move to Borussia Dortmund.

While things didn’t work out for him at Arsenal, he revived his career at VfB Stuttgart before joining the Hammers in the summer of 2023. Over the years, he has featured in 98 matches for the London club and has even bagged four goals.

He has been a constant feature at the back for them this season and has been putting in some sensational performances of late. The 28-year-old has helped them climb out of the drop zone, and he is trying to ensure they stay up.

Irrespective of the club’s future, Mavropanos seems keen on making a move away. He seeks a new challenge, and there is a lot of interest in his services. While clubs in England want him, the 28-year-old would love to return to Germany if the opportunity arises.

Mavropanos could join Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund are keen on his signature as they seek more quality at the back. With Niklas Sule set to leave the club, the German giants are looking for an adequate replacement, and Mavropanos, with his experience, could be of great help.

The opportunity to regularly compete in the Champions League certainly appeals to the player. Ideally, West Ham would be reluctant to let him go, as he is a key figure in the team. But since they are looking to strengthen their squad as a whole, they will have to cash in on a few of their players to ensure they can balance the books.

Mavropanos is a valuable asset, and his departure could give them decent funds. They certainly won’t let him leave on the cheap. Dortmund have already held internal talks about making a move for him. As a result, it will be interesting to see if they do go ahead with it.
