Barcelona will aim to move on from the disappointment of bowing out of the UEFA Champions League and get closer to winning the 2025/26 La Liga title when they welcome Celta Vigo to Spotify Camp Nou on Wednesday night. Hansi Flick has received a positive update on the team news front ahead of his side’s latest fixture.
Pau Cubarsi is available after missing the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg against Atletico Madrid due to a suspension. Additionally, Eric Garcia can play against Celta Vigo, as he will serve his ban in the Champions League next season.
However, Andreas Christensen (ligament) and Raphinha (hamstring) remain in the treatment room, while Marc Bernal (ankle) faces a late fitness test to determine his availability. Meanwhile, during his pre-match press conference, Flick did not provide a fitness update on any player. However, he discussed his team’s mindset ahead of the final few La Liga games of the 2025/26 season.
The Barcelona manager said, “Every game against Celta is very demanding for us. It won’t be easy, because they always do a great job and can control the pace of the game well. We’ll have to play at best. We have to take it step by step. It will be difficult because Real Madrid will fight until the very end. We have to give our best. We want to win La Liga, but it’s not done yet.”
“We’ll give everything for the fans. The elimination hurt us, but it gives us energy for the next few matches. We’ve had a few days of rest and that has helped us clear our heads. The team is in good spirits and always learns from defeats. We’re like a family, and that’s fantastic.”
Joan Garcia is an automatic pick between the sticks, with Barcelona lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation in front of him against Celta Vigo on Wednesday. The backline will feature Jules Kounde, Pau Cubarsi, Eric Garcia, and Joao Cancelo.
As for the midfield unit, there is no looking past Frenkie de Jong and Pedri in the double pivot, with Dani Olmo reprising the no. 10 role. Finally, Ferran Torres will lead the line for the home side against Celta Vigo, with Fermin Lopez and Lamine Yamal completing the numbers in the offensive unit. So, Robert Lewandowski and Marcus Rashford will be among the backup options on the bench.

Predicted Barcelona XI: Joan Garcia; Kounde, Cubarsi, Eric Garcia, Cancelo; de Jong, Pedri; Yamal, Olmo, Fermin; Torres
