Lorient chairman Loïc Féry sets transfer fees for Pablo Pagis and Arthur Avom

Back in Ligue 1 this season, FC Lorient will undoubtedly go down as one of the standout surprises of recent months. Having secured an impressive ninth-place finish in the table, Les Merlus now aim to build on their momentum, with the ambition of competing in European competition in the not-too-distant future.

But they are also well aware that retaining their key players is set to be a challenge. Starting with Pablo Pagis (23), who is being courted by several clubs in the league and whose contract runs until 2027. Having scored 10 goals and provided five assists in 28 Ligue 1 appearances this season, the Lorient striker seems ready to take the next step in his career. But the club’s management has no intention of letting him go so easily.

“I’ve heard a lot of figures being bandied about regarding Pablo (Pagis). These days, a striker of his age with the track record he has doesn’t come cheap. When I read that Pablo Pagis is set to leave for ten million euros, I can reassure everyone: he won’t be leaving for that amount, but for 20 million or more,” said the president of the Breton club, Loïc Féry, in an interview with Ouest-France.

As for Arthur Avom (21), who is also in demand and under contract with Lorient until 2027, a cheque worth at least €10 million will have to be offered to Le Moustoir side to prise him away, according to Féry. A valuation that lives up to the expectations surrounding the Cameroonian midfielder, who has made 31 appearances (two goals, one assist) in Ligue 1, where he has emerged as a major revelation.
