Marseille have rejected an offer in the region of €10m from Besiktas to sign Pierre-Emile Højbjerg (30), according to a report from L’Équipe. The Danish international midfielder looks set to leave the Stade Vélodrome during the summer transfer window.
OM are under pressure to raise funds. After being fined €10m by UEFA for breaching financial fairplay, they will be forced to sanction some departures in the coming weeks. Højbjerg is seen as a potential departure with plenty of interest in the former Tottenham midfielder’s services.
Besiktas are not the only team interested in signing the 30-year-old during the summer. Gianluca Di Marzio understands that Atalanta are also interested in signing the former Southampton midfielder but are yet to open official talks.
