In Zinédine Zidane’s first game as manager of the France national team, Kylian Mbappé is set to be repositioned on the left of Les Bleus’ attack.
Zidane is looking to quickly make his mark on this France squad. He is set to make the bold decision of repositioning Mbappé on the left, which will allow Ousmane Dembélé to play in the No.9 role that he has made his own at Paris Saint-Germain. Michael Olise may start on the right, allowing Rayan Cherki to come in as a playmaker in the midfield.
L’Équipe understands that there is currently some uncertainty regarding who will start in defence. Ibrahima Konaté had been a contender to start prior to dropping out due to injury and being replaced by Manchester United’s Leny Yoro. Chelsea’s Maxence Lacroix now looks more likely to start in the LCB role. There is also a question mark as to who will start between Adrien Truffert and Andy Diouf as France get their UEFA Nations League campaign underway.
