Arsenal line up €20-25 million move for Javi Guerra

Arsenal could prepare a move for midfield target Javi Guerra after the player faces a tough decision on his future at Valencia amid many concerns.

According to Fichajes, Arsenal could be lining up a €20-25 million move for midfield target Javi Guerra. The Gunners briefly considered signing the 22-year-old midfield sensation from Valencia back in the summer, but could revive their chase as the player faces a key decision over his future due to multiple factors.

Valencia have been a club in disarray, concerning many things associated there. For starters, they are no longer the sporting institution of the past, as they have deteriorated in that aspect steadily every year for many years now.

Secondly, they have constant financial struggles, that has seen many of their promising talents leave the club to find a different project elsewhere that would suit their career. Back in the summer, Arsenal signed Cristhian Mosquera, who had entered the final year of his deal at Valencia, and reportedly refused to entertain the prospect of a new contract.

Valencia were forced to sell him on a cut-price move, and his performances so far for Arsenal may indicate they could have sold him for a much higher fee in the future. Now, Arsenal are angling for another of the young and promising stars at the Mestalla, following fresh links to 22-year-old midfield sensation Javi Guerra.

Guerra, for his part, was also in a similar position to Mosquera about his contract, as Valencia did well in renewing his stay until 2029. However, his future is the club is by no means secure, as the player is considering his options following a poor start to the season, and a lack of clear ambitions for the future.

Arsenal readying Javi Guerra bid

Arsenal were linked with a move for Guerra back in the summer, but they chose to pursue other targets such as Christian Norgaard. However, the Gunners have not lost sight of the player since, and could sense another opportunity to raid Valencia.

The Gunners are now reportedly preparing a €20-25 million bid for Guerra to test Valencia’s resolve, despite the player’s release clause listed at €100 million. The report states, Valencia might be open to such an offer, and it may eventually rest with the player and what he makes of his immediate and long-term future at the Mestalla.
