Stoke City were looking to add more quality and depth to their attack before the end of the transfer window, and according to a report from Sky Sports, the EFL Championship outfit have struck a deal with Crystal Palace to acquire the services of winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi on a temporary basis.
Rak-Sakyi joined Crystal Palace’s youth setup from Chelsea in the summer of 2019. He went up the ranks at some pace and got promoted to the first team back in 2022. Unfortunately, the young winger has not been able to establish himself in their first team and has spent a significant amount of time out on loan.
The 23-year-old winger was on loan at Caykur Rizespor during the first half of the season. Since his return to Selhurst Park, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi has been constantly linked with a move away. Celtic, AS Monaco, LOSC Lille, and Millwall are all interested in Rak-Sakyi.
Meanwhile, Swansea City had a failed attempt to sign him last month. While the Welsh outfit were on the verge of securing his services, they could not agree on personal terms with him. Celtic are one of the clubs that were interested in him last summer as well.
The Scottish giants were on the verge of signing him on loan, but the move fell through on deadline. While Jesurin Rak-Sakyi could secure a deadline-day move last time out, he is on the verge of joining Stoke City this time around. The Championship outfit are very keen on having him in their ranks.
The 23-year-old showcased a lot of promise during his loan spell in Turkiye, and Stoke City believe he could replicate similar performances in the English second division. The Potters have managed to strike a deal with Crystal Palace. Both parties have agreed on a loan deal until the end of the season.
It is a straightforward loan move without any buy option/obligation. The English winger will return to his parent club in the summer, where he will still have a year left on his deal.
