The podcast that the 28-year-old seeks an annual salary of €15m. This would constitute a huge increase on the €8m he currently earns. Laimer’s professional representation has plenty if grounds to demand more. Laimer – a natural midfielder – successfully converted to a top notch right back under previous FCB head coach Thomas Tuchel. Under Vincent Kompany, he’s also delivered as a makeshift left back.
The 55-times-capped Austrian international and the Bundesliga outfit have plenty of time to negotiate a new deal. One nevertheless doesn’t expect a breakthrough anytime soon. Max Eberl and the FCB administrative team have just concluded new deals with attacker Serge Gnabry and defender Dayot Upamecano. The salary increases in both deals surely bloat the Bayern payroll.
