Borussia Dortmund eye Mexican starlet Armando González

Borussia Dortmund have entered the race to sign Armando González (22), according to Sport Bild.

The newly-capped Mexico international is out of contract with Deportivo Guadalajara in the summer, and is therefore available on a free transfer but, West Ham, Celtic, Barcelona and Feyenoord have all shown an interest in González who has scored 17 goals in 26 league appearances this season.

Per Sport Bild, Dortmund have been monitoring the 22-year-old ‘for some time’ and scouts have watched him play ‘on several occasions’. Additionally, González – who made his international debut in November 2025 – wants to take the next step in his career with a move to Europe.

It would also fit BVB’s current transfer strategy, having turned their attention towards the Americas with the signings of Kauã Prates and Justin Lerma who, both 17, join Die Schwarzgelben in the summer.
