Arsenal, Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid vying for Karl Etta Eyong

A host of top teams are on high alert to the possibility of Karl Etta Eyong’s availability, as Levante are looking to sell him now.

According to Ben Jacobs, Karl Etta Eyong has multiple top clubs chasing his signature ahead of the summer. Arsenal, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid have been mentioned as suitors among others, as Levante are ready to sell him now to Russia.

Levante are ready for a quickfire sale of star striker Karl Etta Eyong after Russian side CSKA Moscow made an offer. The Spanish side are ready to accept a bid thought to be in excess of €30 million, which could be closer to his reported €40 million release clause.

Etta Eyong has been a good performer for Levante in the earlier part of the season, when he scored five times in the first seven games he played in La Liga. The striker has since failed to find the scoresheet, which has caused concerns among the Levante ranks, which is the probably the reason why they are open to selling him now for a good value, something they might not get in the summer.

Etta Eyong is not keen on the transfer, despite being reportedly pressured to leave the club at this moment. The big reason is that Russia is no longer a viable destination for top footballers, as well as the fact that there are multiple top clubs interested in signing the 22-year-old La Liga sensation, as per Ben Jacobs, who also claimed that Newcastle United are also keen among other teams in England and Spain.

Arsenal were keen before the January window, but never really considered spending on another attacker in the winter months. They are still thought to be interested, as they might target a new striker in the summer, but unlikely to pay anywhere close to his release clause.

Is Etta Eyong set to leave Levante?

Manchester United were also linked a while back, as the club might seek a striker with a different profile to what they currently have. However, they too are likely to pay as much as Levante would want, given the massive drop-off in the 22-year-old La Liga sensation’s performances since the earlier part of the season.

Barcelona and Real Madrid were also linked earlier, as one of those were expected to make some kind of move in January. However, given the interest from La Liga’s biggest teams, Etta Eyong is probably right in evading the idea of leaving Levante right now and waiting until the summer, although he is destined for a new challenge in the new season.
