Leeds United in transfer tussle to sign Ilan Kebbal

Leeds United will reportedly look to sign 27-year-old Algerian international Ilan Kebbal from Ligue 1 club Paris FC in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Africa Foot, Paris FC winger Ilan Kebbal is the subject of interest from Leeds United. The Whites are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a wide attacker ahead of the 2026/27 season as they look to take the next step in their squad evolution.

However, Leeds United will not be alone in the battle for the French-born attacker’s signature, as Southampton and Watford are also keen on signing him in the upcoming transfer window. However, the report has suggested that “no official contact has been made, but these clubs could make a clearer move” in the coming months.

Who is Ilan Kebbal?

Ilan Kebbal has made significant progress since joining Paris FC from Stade Reims in July 2023. Born in Marseille, the 27-year-old spent his formative years in France, starting his youth career at Burel FC before graduating from the academy Marignane Gignac. However, he struggled to land on his feet for several years before moving to the capital.

The Algerian international played his part as Paris FC secured promotion to Ligue 1, and he has made his mark this term, scoring eight goals and providing five assists in 25 outings across all competitions thus far. Meanwhile, Kebbal’s progress at Paris FC has piqued the attention of several well-known clubs, with Leeds United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.

Premier League adventure beckons?

Leeds United’s interest in Ilan Kebbal is understandable. The Whites are scouring the market for a versatile attacker heading into the upcoming transfer window, as Daniel Farke wants more firepower in the final third. While Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Lukas Nmecha, and Brenden Aaronson have been impressive in fits and parts, they have not been consistent enough this term.

So, the West Yorkshire outfit will dip into the market for offensive reinforcement in the coming months, with Jens Petter Hauge among those to have emerged as targets. However, Kebbal is also a viable option, as his burst of pace and productivity in the final third suits Farke’s requirements.

However, recent reports have also linked the 27-year-old Algerian international with other Premier League clubs, while Southampton and Watford are also vying for his signature. So, Leeds United must move quickly to secure Kebbal’s signature as the competition for his services becomes intense.
