Manchester United interested in signing Samuel Dahl

Manchester United are keen on acquiring the services of SL Benfica full-back Samuel Dahl after having scouted him on multiple occasions.

While Manchester United’s focus is on ensuring they secure Champions League football for next season, the Red Devils have already started planning for the summer transfer window. They want to address a few key issues in their squad, which includes signing a new left-back.

They have been linked with a number of top-quality full-backs, and SL Benfica’s Samuel Dahl is one of the names on their wishlist. According to Record via SportWitness, United are keen on signing the Swedish international, having scouted him on more than ten occasions this season.

While things didn’t work out for Dahl at AS Roma, he has managed to revive himself since joining Benfica at the start of 2025. It was an initial loan move, which was made permanent last summer. The 23-year-old has managed to win the trust of Jose Mourinho and has established himself as a key figure in his team.

In the ongoing campaign, the Swedish full-back has been involved in 46 games across competitions and has even contributed towards four goals. People at the Portuguese club rate him very highly, and his performances have placed him on the radar of a number of clubs.

United are plotting a raid on Benfica

Manchester United are one of the clubs that are keen on signing him. Since Luke Shaw is injury-prone and his long-term future is uncertain, the Red Devils consider Dahl an ideal replacement. They have a long-standing interest in him and revived their pursuit of his signature.

They have sent scouts on more than ten occasions to watch him in action this season. His strong physical presence and ability to adjust to different systems make him an ideal fit for United. They seem ready to make an offer in the summer transfer window.

While there is no clarity over the finances involved, Benfica will certainly look to make the most out of his potential departure. Since Roma have a 40% sell-on clause, the Portuguese giants will demand a massive fee.
