Official | Lille announce Bruno Génésio’s departure

Lille OSC have announced that Bruno Génésio will leave his role as head coach at the end of the season, with his contract expiring at the end of next month.

Génésio joined the club in 2024 on a two-year contract, replacing Paulo Fonseca. In his first season, he led Lille to a memorable UEFA Champions League campaign where the club defeated the likes of Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid, and held Juventus to a draw.

Before leaving Génésio ensured that his successor will also manage in the Champions League after securing a third-place finish and automatic qualification into the league phase ahead of two of his former teams, Olympique Lyonnais and Stade Rennais.

Lille were unable to convince the 59-year-old to extend his contract in the north, and he has been linked with the Olympique de Marseille job, with it expected that Les Phocéens will not retain the services of Habib Beye.
