RB Leipzig are reported to have reached a verbal agreement with RC Strasbourg Alsace’s Diego Moreira (22), according to information from Sky Sport Deutschland.
The player, seen as a replacement for Yan Diomandé (19) and keen to move to Germany, is reportedly ready to sign a four-year contract there, running until 2031. However, the fee demanded by Racing – between €60m and €70m – to release the Belgian could prove to be a stumbling block to the deal.
Whilst Leipzig has indeed entered into talks with the Alsatian club, RB Leipzig reportedly has no intention of meeting their demands.
Having arrived in France in 2023 to join Olympique Lyonnais, Moreira has truly taken his game to the next level since his move to Strasbourg two years ago.
With his versatile playing style, the Liège-born player has established himself as a key member of the RCSA squad, having made no fewer than 76 appearances in all competitions to date, scoring seven goals and providing 16 assists.
If the deal were to go through, the Belgian, under contrat until 2029, could become the most expensive sale in RCSA’s history.
