Strasbourg’s Samir El Mourabet agrees to join RB Leipzig

RC Strasbourg Alsace’s Samir El Mourabet (20) is reported to have reached a contractual agreement with RB Leipzig to move to Germany this summer, according to information from Foot Mercato.

Whilst no transfer fee has been disclosed as yet, the two clubs must now work towards reaching an agreement to finalise the deal.

These discussions are likely to drag on, as RB Leipzig are also keen to secure the services of Diego Moreira (22), with whom the third-placed side in last season’s German league are said to have reached a verbal agreement.

Under contract with RCSA until 2030, El Mourabet made the most of his first full season in the Alsatian club’s first team to establish himself as an indispensable asset.

Having made 48 appearances across all competitions (two goals, three assists) last season, the Moroccan international midfielder (nine caps) even took the opportunity to make his European debut, featuring in nine of the 12 Conference League matches played by Strasbourg during the 2025-26 campaign.
