Eintracht Frankfurt have signed Rennes centre-back Lilian Brassier (26), both clubs have announced. Frankfurt’s outlay for Brassier reportedly rises to €10m. The French defender has put pen to paper over a long-term five-year deal with Die Adler. Brassier will wear the No. 3 jersey for Adi Hütter’s side.
The 26-year-old initially joined Rennes from Marseille on loan, until his move became permanent last summer. In total, Brassier featured 41 times for Rennes. The Ligue 1 side were already packed with defensive options following the signings of Charlie Cresswell and Gonçalo Oliveira. Rennes also retained the services of Abdelhamid Aït-Boudlal and Anthony Rouault. On the contrary, Eintracht were a centre-back short after Arthur Theate left them for Bologna.
