OGC Nice’s Isak Jansson suffers knee sprain

OGC Nice have now suffered two injury blows this week. It was confirmed that Elye Wahi, injured within 10 seconds of kick-off against Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday night, had suffered an ankle sprain that will sideline him for several weeks. He is now joined on the treatment table by Isak Jansson, according to a report from L’Équipe.

It is understood that Jansson suffered a knee sprain during Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Lyon. As a result, as is the case with Wahi, he will miss several weeks of action, further depleting Claude Puel’s options in attack.

However, during Tuesday’s training session, open to the public, there were positives for Nice. Mohamed Abdelmonem and Youssouf Ndayishimiye, both of whom have not featured this season, having suffered ACL injuries at the end of last season, took part in the training session, as did Melvin Bard, who has also been absent in recent weeks.
