Diego Moreira (22) has completed a record-breaking move to AC Milan. The Belgium international’s sale represents the most expensive in RC Strasbourg Alsace’s history.
Moreira joined Strasbourg from partner club Chelsea and would go on to become a key member for Le Racing. In 76 appearances for the Ligue 1 club, he made 16 assists and scored seven goals. His departure this summer had been anticipated, with the club having reached the end of a cycle. The fee has not been disclosed and there are many varying estimates. L’Équipe estimates the deal to be worth €50, without bonuses. Regardless, it is a club-record sale for Strasbourg.
His exit comes following that of club captain Emanuel Emegha, whose move to Chelsea was confirmed back in September, as well as that of Valentín Barco, who has also made the move to Stamford Bridge. Julio Enciso and Abdoul Ouattara are among the other big names to have left the Meinau this summer.
